Original drummer for The Wallflowers. Played on the 6× platinum Bringing Down the Horse — “One Headlight,” “6th Avenue Heartache,” “The Difference” — alongside Jakob Dylan. Currently the drummer for the Grammy-winning Latin-rock outfit Ozomatli, where he has held the chair for two decades.
The brief. Custom Gretsch kit. The design was created by Mario’s daughter — sketched on paper, then executed exactly to her specification: Gretsch dark teal with custom green stripe and her hand-drawn brand mark on each shell. Father-daughter project, no creative liberties taken.
